Katherine Martell

Katherine Martell is a managing partner of First Point Law Group, PC. An experienced litigator, she has appeared before the Supreme Court of Virginia, the Court of Appeals of Virginia, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and circuit courts throughout Northern Virginia.

She has represented clients in complex criminal, family and employment matters. Her approach starts with a careful evaluation of each case and a clear strategy built around the client’s goals, and she is willing to go the distance to see it through. Her clients know they have a capable, trustworthy lawyer who will make sure they are protected and represented in court.

As managing partner, Katherine guides the firm’s work across immigration, family law, criminal defense and civil litigation, so a client whose matter crosses practice areas is served by one coordinated team.

Katherine began her career at DLA Piper, one of the largest law firms in the world, where she worked on corporate and litigation matters and trained alongside some of the country’s most accomplished lawyers.

For many years, Ms. Martell hosted Tu Abogada Latina, a live weekend radio show where she discussed legal issues facing the Latino community. The show, which ended in 2022, helped hundreds of people facing legal issues and taught listeners about their legal rights.

Katherine Martell is married to a Professional Firefighter, and together they live in Northern Virginia with their daughter and goldendoodle. When she isn’t working, Katherine contributes her time to several local charities and enjoys cooking, traveling, and watching football.
